How do you get your little brother off the computer?

If he's spent over 45 minutes on the computer not doing homework or anything important, you can just ask your little brother to get off the computer and say that you need a turn on the computer since he's been on the computer for a while.

Just tell them you are going on a date in 5 minutes and they will get off the computer and start asking you questions and you can just get on the computer and ignore them!

Put the computer in the family room and password protect it so they can use it only when you enter the password for them. That way, you can monitor the time they spend on the computer, as well as what they do on it, if or when you do let them use it.

And if they have their own computers, then as their parent, you have every right to take them away if you feel that's what's best for them. It is a parent's responsibility to keep their children safe, and to monitor all of their activities. So just as you wouldn't allow them to watch inappropriate movies or tv programs, or to watch excessive amounts of tv, you have every right to not allow them to use a computer if you feel they aren't using it appropriately or responsibly.
