Every computer has its own ip address, for minecraft it's no different. Just search for Command Prompt in the start menu and once opened type, ipconfig, then you will see near the top, IPv4 Address. The numbers to the right of it is your computers ip address.
If you are connecting from the same LAN that the server is on, the procedure varies depending on your operating system. In Windows, type ipconfig into the command prompt and look for 'IPv4 address'.
If you are port forwarding the server on your router and allowing other players to join via the internet, go to a website like whatismyipaddress.com.
You can find your computer's IP Address by:
-Windows-
1) Click start
2) All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
3) When the prompt opens, type "ipconfig"
-Mac OSX-
1) Open the Hard Drive icon from the desktop
2) Navigate to Applications > Utilities > Terminal
3) In the terminal, type "ifconfig"
4) You will see it listed as "inet address"
-->Wireless: most likely under adapter en1
..>Wired: most likely under adapter en0
You will see your IP Address listed as long as your network connection is active.
There is no IP address for a single player map.
Minecraftservers.com

Yes Just go on your server folder look for world (random name) then transfer to .minecraft/worlds launch minecraft you will find the world somewhere in singleplayer zone Select the world run it and you are where you where before. And you can still edit blocks
you can only find a house in multiplayer or in singleplayer villages. why ask when you yourself can just build a house?
Once you open Minecraft, and you're logged in, instead of clicking "Singleplayer" click "Multiplayer". Now you can find a server you want on the interwebs, and copy the IP address down on direct connect, that is to say if this is your first time, and you're experimenting. If not, then click "Add server" and do the same.
Minecraft Classic and Survival mode (singleplayer and multiplayer can be played on the browser but it may be faster if you download it. [You have to pay for Minecraft survival but you don't have to for classic]) I'll post more games when I find them, but Minecraft is the best game in the world in my opinion.
Ender Portals are unbuildable in Singleplayer, but if you go into creative mode, you'll find the End Portal Frames and Ender Eyes in one of the tabs, the only way to find them in Singleplayer survival is to use Ender Eyes to follow and find the location of the Strongholds of the Portals.
Make the file by opening minecraft, click singleplayer, then click new file. Then navigate to .minecraft (click start, run, and type in %appdata%) Then click saves. Find your file and put it in your USB drive. And thats how! :D
firstly download the newest version of the map, you should now have a zip file, extract it and place it in an easily accesible place. the steps are differnet for single and multiplayer. for single player go to your .minecraft folder and find saves and simply place the extracted file there and when you load up MC it will now be a singleplayer worlds list. for multiplayer you have to find the world folder, delete that and place the extracted map in there and rename it to "world" when you load up the sevrer the world will be changed to the cops and robbers map.
Check "Planet Minecraft" or "MinecraftServers" to find the I.P. address for that server.
Find the world in your 'saves' folder (which is in your minecraft folder) and copy it to another location, like Documents or Desktop.
If cheats are enabled in your world, do /seed to find your seed.
go to the minecraft website and play online or host your own world
you need to go to your .minecraft folder then go to your saves folder then find your world and burn that onto a cd
