Pay the towing and storage bill.
They take out the personal belongings. This includes the tags. Check with the repo company or lender for that stuff back.
They don't charge you for your personal belongings.. they charge you a storage fee. Yep, it's 100% legal.
For the most part you can. You can retrieve personal belongings. This means like your library books, cell phone, a firearm, tennis shows, or your child's car seat. However, if something has been added to the car, you cannot. If you are wanting to get back expensive speakers, specialty lights, or an in-dash GPS, you can't. That is now part of the car, and not a personal belonging.
If you car was towed for a good and legal reason, then the company has the right to charge you money for the recovery of the vehicle - costs of towing and storage fees, usually. What they do with your personal belongings is usually let someone pick them up. In some cases, they may feel that they have the right to hold them, as "security" for your payment to them. (In cases of a repossession, they should give the personal items back, as the finance company is paying their fee, and has no desire for your stuff.) In theory, if you disagree with that, you could sue. But usually the cost of suit would exceed the value of most personal property in a car, and frankly, the tow company could as easily throw your stuff out and claim ignorance. By all means, consult a local attorney. Always a good idea. But it might - in this case - be even better to just settle with the tow company, or plea in such a fashion that they take pity on you.
Yah
If those "personal things" are owned by the individual and can be defined as lawful items there are not laws forbidding such action. For example, the individual might wish to sell his or her personal belongings to pay legal expenses.
If you can't find it in your garage then it might have been towed.
* You have to contact the storage yard immediately. * If you have proof of ownership take it with you. (You might not need this.) * If you have proof that the car is registered in your name take that with you. * The storage yard should not charge you for holding your belongings if you have contacted them immediately. They might charge you some fee if they have to go to some trouble to get your belongings.
after a car has been towed you should either buy a new one or either rent one from a car seller that can let you rent one
Sure it can, I imagine that one has been hit by an 18 wheeler by now and was flat when it was towed.
If it was towed this year it is 2012, if last year 2011, unless it was camel towed then I cant answer sorry, it will have split however............................................................ LK66VETTE- I would go to the police dept.of the town it was towed, explain the situation, ask them how to get the car back, and or who towed it. The police and tow company will want to see ID-so you should have it handy. Also you should have some representation of ownership of the car.note if the has been towed and stored for a long period of time it might be gone or too costly to recover, either way good luck.---larry
Go to the dealership and get owner paperwork and have it towed. Most tow places will allow you to get it towed when you don't have the keys. If you have the keys then that's even better. If you go to the police you may have to report it stolen. So use that as a last resort. If your car has been repossessed by the bank or dealership, you will not get it back.
