First off, enough thought should be given when planting Bell Peppers. Bell Peppers can flourish if they are planted in places where there is plenty of sunlight. Planning indoors can be a good idea provided you plant eight weeks atleast after the last frost. The soil should also be 85 degrees warm to be good.

Now when you start off, first put the compost and manure in the soil. If needed, you can use a all purpose fertilizer. Check out for the weather if you plan to transplant. If its a cool climate, there' isn't any need to transplant them. You need to plant the seedlings 24 inches apart if you are starting to grow bell peppers. There should be 24 inches of space between the rows. This is all it takes to plant the Bell Peppers. Now once you are done with the planting of the peppers, start to water the plants so as to keep the soil moist. If there isn't enough amount of water provided, the pepper can result in bitter taste. But see that don't water more than it is required so that you wont soak the soil. During summer the water dries up sooner, so you may need more amount. Try adding some mulch so that there is moisture. Mulch is a great thing as it can help in preventing weeds. Hope this helps.

Bell peppers need full sun. They benefit from compost. They can use a tomato cage to keep the peppers from touching the ground.
