One assumes that, by "it", you mean the penis, and that, by "inside her", you mean the vagina...

The act of sexual intercourse starts with the male becoming aroused, creating an erection of the penis, which is now firm enough to pentrate the vulva and vagina. In the process, the female is aroused, causing her tissues, such as the clitoris, to become engorged and sensitive. As things proceed, the male reaches orgasm and ejaculates into the vagina, after which his semen, which contains sperm, travels into the uterus and fallopian tubes where they might encounter and fertilize an egg, causing pregnancy. The female may or may not reach orgasm, but it is generally considered a good thing if she does. (Communication is essential here, because the typical male concept of sexual "conquest" does not jive with the typical female's need for emotional "connection".)

That's the scientific explanation. Now, to the much more important psychological, emotional, spiritual, and legal aspects...

Sexual intercourse makes babies. That is what it is for. It also binds the male and female together into an emotional and spiritual oneness that cannot be denied. Both persons need to consider very carefully the consequences of sexual intercourse. There is pregnancy, leading to children, leading to child support. There is emotional and spiritual connection, which can complicate things greatly. There is risk of STD's, which can lead to illness and death. There are legal ramifications, such as statutory rape, depending on the relative age of the two partners. There are religious and legal consequences, particularly in some countries, where sex outside of marriage is illegal. There are other religious consequences, where many religions believe that sex outside of marriage is fornication, a sin. There is adultery, also a sin, and a cause of many divorces. And the list goes on and on...

Bottom line is that, before engaging in sexual activity, the two people involved should weigh all of the pros and cons, and make an informed decision that they will or will not do something that might well impact them for the rest of their lives. This is not a decision to be made lightly, and certainly not a decision to be made by the very young. The age of consent in most jurisdictions is 18, so, for instance, sex at 13 is completely out of the question.

Keep in mind two very important facts which tend to be ignored or misunderstood, particularly by the young. First is that the male does not need to reach orgasm to impregnate the female. Very soon after erection, there is a small quantity of pre-ejaculate present at the tip of the penis. While not the same as a full orgasm, there are many, many hundreds or thousands of sperm present in the pre-ejaculate, and it is possible to become pregnant - it only takes one sperm. Second, even though protection such as a condom and/or Birth Control is used, that does not change the basic fact that there was sexual intercourse, with its emotional, spiritual, and legal ramifications. Besides, birth control is not 100% effective.

Sexual intercourse, in my humble opinion, and in the opinion of most experienced adults, should be reserved for a committed, loving, caring relationship, preferably within marriage.
