Well I've heard that a 'step cousin' is a step parent's nephews and nieces. Meaning if your father and mother got a divorice, your mother remarried to a man who is now your 'step dad' then his brother or sister's children are your 'step cousins'.
Also, I believe to use it with my other 'cousin'. I believe step father or mother means a father or mother because of marriage, not a blood parent. So, I believe that when my aunt married my uncle, my uncle became my 'step uncle' or 'uncle by marriage' and his brother's or sister's children are now my 'step cousins' or 'cousins by marriage'.
This may be incorrect but that is how I choose to describe my aunt's husband's brother/sister's kids. I like to be able to call them my cousins because I am so close to them!
Just as an example, my Uncle married a woman with children from a first marriage. Her children are my step cousins. Cousins are people who have an ancestor in common who is not a parent. If an uncle marries a woman who has children form a previous marriage, those children are not related to the children of the uncle's siblings. If the uncle and his new wife have a child together, that child is as much a first cousin of those other nieces and nephews as the uncle's children from his first marriage. Of course, if the family relationships are good, the children of the second wife will be made to fell members of the family as much as possible and some may want to call them "step-cousins," but that term is a new invention of no value to genealogy.
A step cousin would either be the stepchild of your aunt or uncle (if your aunt or uncle married someone with kids) or the niece or nephew of your stepparent.
A step brother's cousin is no relation to you.
Step son or not regarding your mother's cousin that would make him your third cousin.
There is no such thing as a half second cousin. You are second cousins if you share one great grandparent. Being someone's cousin means you are related to them. There is a step-2nd cousin. A step-2nd cousin is the daughter/son of someone's step-mom's/step-dad's cousin. It could also be the step-daughter/step-son of someone's mom's/dad's cousin.Ex.:Rob has a step-mom named Mary. Mary's cousin is Johnathan. Johnathan's child is Maria. Rob & Maria are step-2nd cousins.Maria's dad is named Johnathan. Johnathan has a cousin named Mary. Mary has a step-son named Rob. Maria & Rob are step-2nd cousins.
If she is your grandpa's step-niece, she would be your mom's step-cousin, and your second step-cousin.
No, Poe's wife, Virginia, was his cousin.
chloroform
His step-cousin is Ian Fleming.
No, you share no ancestor with your cousin's stepbrother so you are not related. You could call that person your cousin if you were close or if he had been in the step-relationship from a very young age and was not asserting his different parentage.
There is no relation that is properly called a step cousin.
Your sister's cousin is your cousin, too, unless you and your sister are really step siblings with different parents. Then your sister's cousin is not related to you.
it is okay to date anyone who is not a "blood relative". Anyone who is a "Step..." anything is not a blood relative. For instance, it is okay to date your: Step Cousin, Step Second Cousin, Step Third Cousin, etc. it is even okay to date a step Brother or sister, however it is slightly looked down upon by most societies.
your half sisters cousin would be your cousin
