First of all, remove the jewelry. I'm sure you've already done that. Second, take care of the piercing as if there was still jewelry in it. Just because you took out the jewelry does not mean your risk for infection is gone. Keep cleaning it. There is nothing you can do to make healing time faster, that is all up to your body. Just make sure you keep taking care of it.

Why would a navel piercing gradually tear through?

This Is Called, Growing Out Or Rejecting. This Can Happen To Any Person That Gets A Navel Piercing. It Can Affect Younger People Because As You Grow, The Piercing Can Gradually Be Pushed To The Suface Of Skin, And You Will Have To Take It Out. But If This Does Happen You Can Get It Repierced, You Just have To Let It Heal First. x

Why is it not safe to tan after a naval piercing?

You aren't supposed to tan indoors after getting a navel piercing because of the UV rays can dry out your piercing and make it uncomfortable, and if the lotion gets into your piercing it can get infected. Your piercing may take 6-12 months to heal so until then you should take good care of it and avoid tanning and swimming. You should wait until the weather cools down to get your piercing so then you have all winter for it to heal.

How long can you leave out your navel ring if you just got it a month ago?

Not long at all, piercings don't heal in a month especially the navel piercing, it takes from 3 to 6 months for a good light heal, but is far from healed and seasoned to handle having the jewellery out for long.

Belly button piercing bar or ring?

Ultimately the less material sticking out of the piercing the better. See in the early days of navel piercing, they were all done with rings however this meant the piercing could be irritated by the excessive amount of material exiting from the piercing. Now with the advent of purpose designed body jewellery a properly sized and fitted navel gem means the piercing has less material that can snag or hang up on clothing. This allows the piercing to heal without the irritation seen in ring navel piercings. The navel should be visualized as a nest, the navel gem "gem" should be considered as the egg in the nest and should be centered to hang in the middle of the navel. The object is to draw attention to the whole package not just the gem but the navel and waist line as a complete package. The object is to highlight the figure of the client, this is where an experienced eye and the knowledgeable skill of a professional body piercer comes into play.

What kind of problems do navel rings cause?

Navel rings don't actually cause any trouble, it's the mis use of the aftercare routeen and user error that causes the problem. Navel piercings need to be clean and they need fresh air in order to heal, more often than not people wear tight clothing and cover the piercing for hours on end thus not allowing the piercing to breath. Then skipping the proper cleaning routeen or over cleaning the piercing can cause trouble again. I have provided hundreds of ladies with navel piercings and out of that group only 6% had issues due to the above listed points. # Buy only the best jewellery form known quality vendors (piercing studios) # Get the piercing professionally done by a shop with an excellent track record # Follow the instructions you have been given and if you have trouble go back to the studio for help. # Give the piercing time to heal 3~6 months of longer. Follow the above listed points and you should have no trouble with your navel piercing.

Will a nose piercing close scar or stay open if you decide you do not want it anymore?

A nose piercing, should you no longer want to have it, will usually heal itself and present a scar afterwards.

Why doesn't your belly piercing go in?

One of two reasons. One, either the jewelry that you are trying to put in is a bigger gauge than the jewelry that it was originally done in, or the hole is closed either slightly to all the way, and you will not be able to get it back in without either shoehorning it in with a taper or waiting for it to heal, and then get it repierced.
