Water is pumped up to the roof of your house and into pipes or panels that will catch the sun's heat. Colder water is sent up and the hot water is collected in a tank.

A:

To heat water with solar energy requires a collector and a water tank that looks like a water heater. The collector is a well insulated wooden box. It has a base 4 feet by 8 feet and the four sides are 6 inches deep. It is covered with thick glass 4 feet by 8 feet. Inside pipes lie along the bottom of the box. The pipe enters in the bottom of the box and runs a few inches from the bottom of the box. When it gets almost to the side, then it goes a few inches higher and goes back in the other direction. Finally the pipes reach the top of the box and the last one exits the box.

Cold water will go into the bottom of the heater and hot water will go out of the top of the heater. A strictly gravity system will place the water tank above the collector. As the hot water goes to the top of the tank, cold water will enter the heater.

These solar water heaters have been used in South Florida houses for over 100 years. After the initial investment, hot water is free.

How does the solar heater heats up the water in the tank?

The solar panels absorb energy from then sun, the solar energy is then transformed into heat energy causing the water to heat up.

If it is a cloudy day then how you will get solar energy?

Quite simply, you get less solar energy than when it is not cloudy. For example, a solar stove can still heat water, but it will no longer boil.Quite simply, you get less solar energy than when it is not cloudy. What SP use energy from the sun to heat the water?

Solar Panel

What is meant by the term solar energy?

Solar energy is energy generated by the Sun. For example, the light that hits the Earth is solar energy, because it is produced by the Sun. Humans have created solar panels, which turn regular light solar energy into electricity, water, and heat energy.

How To Use Solar Energy?

You can heat things (for example, use a solar system to heat water, and use it to take a shower - or use a solar cooker to cook food), and you can generate electricity from the Sun's energy.

When do you use solar energy?

Solar energy is most commonly used in place of regular electrictity or to heat things like buildings and water.

What are different uses of solar energy?

solar energy can be used to produce electricity.it can also use for home at low level.through this we can heat water

Is solar energy involved in the water cycle?

Yes, heat from the sun melts snow and helps to evaporate the water. /Evaporation is a step in the water cycle therefore solar energy contributes to that branch.

How does solar energy differ from heat energy?

Heat energy is measured by temperature and solar energy is the energy that comes from the sun in the form of heat or light. Isabel B.
