It matters if it has ac or not. If it is a non ac vehicle, the hoses and coolant flow from the fitting close to the thermostat housing to the lower heater core tube, then out the upper heater core tube to the fitting on the water pump. If it has ac, the hose from the upper heater core tube connects to the fitting on the radiator.
of course you can!
the hoses hook to the back of the engine one on the right and one on the left, best way to work on these is from the underneath.
Cut both heater hoses and hook them together. Make the hose go from the motor to the radiator.
Its more than likely your heater core.
What size engine do you have, I'm trying to be sure someone has correctly connected my heater hoses up right on my 66 428 w/air T-Bird
on the passenger side under the dash. the lowest point of the black plastic housing, close to the transmission hump. should be 3 or 4 screws or bolts. remove them then pull old heater core and replace with new one. replace screws, hook up hoses and all should be well.
Remove the heater hoses from the heater core at the firewall and hook them together. In order to connect to two same diameter hoses together, get a 5 or 6 inch piece of pipe which is the same diameter as the heater core tubes from which the hoses were removed. Install the pipe halfway into one hose and secure tightly with a worm-drive hose clamp. Then once secure, do the same with the other hose.j3h.
ck the two hoses after engine is warmed up.Both should be hot if control valve is working. If valve is working remove hoses at heater core very carefull and use garten hose and go from one to the other until water is clear hook up and try again
You wil lose coolant into the car. You can just loop the heater hose back to the motor where it goes into the firewall. Where ever the two heater hoses come out of the motor can be connected together or get a splice and hook the two hoses together where they now connect to the heater core at the firewall. You won't have any heat, but it won't leak either. Does not affect the running of the car.
Yes, if you get them backwards, you'll have AC instead of heat.....Just kidding. It doesn't make any difference.
Hook Line and Stinker - 1968 was released on: USA: 1 March 1968
Unhook the two hoses going to the heater core. Use a hose clamp to hook a garden hose onto one of the stems from the core. Turn the water on full blast. Run the water through until clear water comes out.
