Yes.
Yes unless the 700r4 came behind a 2.8
a 700r4 trans out of a s10 with a 4.3 will bolt up to a 305 but you will have to use flywheel cover for the s10 trans.
YES.
model 700R4...very common
Yes, a 700r4 will allow up to a 400ci sbc.
Yes, but ... The 700R4 was found behind the 4.3 and 2.8L motors in the S10s up until 1994. The 2.8L motors and trans had a different bell housing pattern than the 4.3s. The output shaft on the 2wd and the 4x4 were different, so you have to match up which use the donor trans had prior to use in the S10. The 700R4 will swap in to place of a 4L60, but not a 4L60E (the 'e' stands for electronic). When you install the 700R4, replace the TV cable.
seems I'm answering my own question... turns out my 84 4x4 Jimmy with a 6.2 diesel and 700r4 trans runs the same 3.07 gear ratio as my 83 Sierra Classic 4x4 pick up with a 305 gas and 700r4 trans.
you dont use the ecm, you use one of the wires from the second injector, i think its blue
NO You can not. The compurter and wreing harness in the 1990 will not hook up are even shift the 4L60E transmission. You MUST put the 700R4 back in it.
The trans will bolt directly to the 350,but you will need a new torque converter. I had a Nova with the same set-up because the guy who had it before me blew the original trans and replaced it with a 700r4 from a Camaro. The Nova now has a 350 with that trans, but like I said new torque converter. you dont have to buy a new torque converter just use the straight six fly wheel on your v8
Behind driver seat in with battery , have to take battery out to get ECM out. First check 20 amp fuse next to battery it is for the ECM , protects it.
