How do you replace windshield wiper blades on 1998 Isuzu Amigo?

The 1998 Isuzu Amigo has the most common hook-end wiper arms. See sources and related links below for installation videos. Also, purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

How do you replace a clutch cable in a 1969 Volkswagen?

1. Unhook the battery. Jack up the driver's side of the car and block the wheels. Crawl under, find the clutch arm, and unscrew the big wing nut from it. Then go into the engine compartment and unhook the accelerator cable. 2. Go in the passenger compartment and remove the pedal cluster. Make sure to unhook the accelerator cable. When you pull it out, you'll see the clutch cable sticking out a big hole in the side of the transmission tunnel. Before you pull the clutch cable completely out of the car, carefully!!! stick your finger in this hole and feel around for the tube the clutch cable is sticking out of. Also note the hook attached to the clutch pedal. If this hook looks like a hook, go to the next step. If the hook looks like part of it has broken off, you don't need to change the clutch cable. If the hook is okay: 3. Pull the clutch cable out. 4. Paint your new clutch cable to make it last longer. When the paint dries, get a nice big glob of lithium grease in one hand and pull the whole cable through it. 5. Get a newspaper and spread it out on the floor of your car so you don't get the rug covered with grease. Thread the end of the clutch cable into the tube you felt in step 2, then push it in until the clevis at the end is sticking out of the hole about two inches. If the hook is worn off (this happens more than you'd think): 3. There's a bolt on the pedal cluster that holds the hook in. Remove this bolt. Pull out the hook. Grease the shaft of the new hook, put it in place, line up the bolt hole and replace the bolt. In all cases: a. Go back under and put the clutch cable into the clutch arm. Screw the wing nut on until it just touches the clutch arm, then back it off a couple of turns. b. Get out from under and check the clutch free play: you want about a quarter inch of travel before you feel resistance. c. Put the car back on the ground and hook up the battery, then test drive the car to be sure it shifts nicely.

How to change a 1969 vw beetle clutch cable?

Step one is to remove the large wing nut on the clutch actuating arm on the transaxle, located ahead of the engine, oin the drivers side, on top of the transaxle. Next, you have to remove the accelerator cable from either the pedal assembly, or detatch it from your carb linkage. Lastly, you need to remove the two bolts holding the pedal assembly on, one in front of the accelerator pedal, and one behind it. The pedal assembly should pull right out of it's mounting hole and you will have access to the clutch pedal hook and the clutch cable. Remove the clutch cable, inspect the clutch pedal hook to make sure it isn't getting too worn out ( I have had one of these hooks break off on me from years of driving and a Kennedy pressure plate ), then thread the new clutch cable into it's guide tube, hook the end onto the back side of the clutch pedal, re-install the pedal assembly, then the large wing nut and accelerator cable. How do you replace the clutch cable on a 1966 Volkswagen?

For this you don't have to unhook the battery! Step 1: jack up the left side of the car. Crawl under, find the clutch lever and remove the clutch cable adjusting nut. Step 2: open the hood and unhook the accelerator cable. Step 3: remove the two bolts holding the pedal cluster in, and extract the pedal cluster from the car. You will find one of two things: that the clevis on the end of the clutch cable wore through (it's made of pot metal, so it happens), or that the hook on the end of the clutch pedal wore through. The odds of either happening are about equal. If it's the pedal hook, stop what you're doing. Take the pedal cluster away from the car. The hook is pushed into a tube and secured with one small bolt. Remove the bolt, stick a metal rod of some sort on the end of the hook rod that's shoved into the tube, and whack it with a hammer until it comes out. Push a new hook into the tube, align the hole in the tube with the hole in the hook, and install the bolt. Then check the end of the cable just to make sure. If the cable is broken, grab it and pull it out. Take the new cable out of the bag. Dunk it in Rustoleum paint, then hang it up to dry. When it does, thread it into the tube the old one came from, put the clevis on the clutch pedal hook, and reinstall the pedal cluster. Step 4: Crawl back under the car. Thread the end of the cable through the clutch lever, and get the adjusting nut (1966s didn't have wing nuts, but I'd get one when I bought the new cable--they make adjusting the clutch SO nice...) started on the cable. Step 5: Have someone go into the car with a ruler. Press the clutch pedal in about half an inch. When it's down, you screw the adjuster nut down until it touches the clutch lever. Step 6: let the car back down and hook the accelerator cable back up. You're done.

How do you change the clutch cable in a 1990 suzuki vitara?

go under the car with a 14mm spanner and undo the adjustment nut, also undo the nut that passes thru the clutch lever (sticks out the side of the gearbox) Slide the end of the cable out of the fork, and then remove the 14mm locking nut that holds the sheath of the cable in postition. This completes the 'clutch' size of the cable. Then using a 10mm spanner remove the 2 bolts/nuts in the engine bay where the clutch cable run into the cabin. In the drivers footwell stick your hand up and unhook the hook on the end of the cable off the top of the clutch pedal. Install is reverse of removal but requires you to tighten the clutch cable by tightening the nut on the clutch end of the cable. (you will know when you see it)

How to replace the clutch pedal shaft on a 1967 volkswagen beetle?

It's a fun job because you get to use hammers, and you may not have to change it. These almost all get changed because you managed to break off the hook the clutch cable rides in. Start by unhooking the accelerator cable from the carb, then undoing the two bolts that hold the pedal cluster to the tunnel, unhook the accelerator cable, and pull the pedal cluster out. The piece that was inside the tunnel is where the problem lies. If the hook broke off, you've got to replace the shaft. If it DIDN'T break off, you wore through the pin in the clutch cable clevis that goes over the hook. Assuming the hook's broken, start by finding the alignment bolt for the shaft, and remove it. It's a hex-head bolt sticking out of the clutch pedal arm down at the base, and you'll see it. Use a big hammer and a big drift to beat the shaft out of the pedal cluster. Put some grease--lithium, moly, CV grease, whatever you have--on the shaft and slide it into the cluster. Rotate it so the hook is up and the hole for the alignment bolt is lined up, and install the bolt. Jack the left side of your car up and loosen the clutch cable a LOT--you can remove the adjuster nut if you'd like. Catch the pin in the clutch cable clevis over the hook, then set the pedal cluster about where it goes. The brake pedal has a pin coming off it that works the master cylinder. Put this pin into the master cylinder, hook up the accelerator cable and bolt the pedal cluster back in. Finally, adjust the throttle and clutch cables.

How do you replace clutch cable on 1968 vw beetle?

First, unhook the battery, block the wheels and jack up the left side of the car. Crawl under and look straight up from the axle; you will find the clutch lever on the side of the transmission. Unhook it. Then open the engine compartment and unhook the accelerator cable from the carb. Go into the driver's footwell and flip the gas pedal forward. You will see two bolts holding the pedal cluster on. Remove them, and work the cluster out of the hole it's in. If the clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor when you step on it, three things could have happened - well, four if you count the transmission breaking but that's the least likely to happen. First, the hook on the end of the clutch pedal could break. If that's what happened, it's held on with a little bolt on the side. Remove the bolt, slip out the old hook. Grease the shaft of the new one, stick it where the old one was and put the bolt back in. Second, the clutch pedal end of the cable could have broken and third, the transmission end could have broken. In either case, stick your finger into the hole the clutch cable is sticking out of and find the clutch cable tube. When you do, pull the old cable completely out. Grease the new one and work it into the clutch cable tube. When it's almost all the way in, put it on the hook and put the pedals back in place. Crawl under the car. Put the end of the cable through the clutch arm on the transmission, then screw on one of the two nuts - the other is a jam nut. Get someone to push the clutch pedal down 1/2" with their hand, and run the nut all the way up to the clutch arm, then put on the jam nut. Set the car on the ground, hook up the accelerator cable and reconnect the battery.

How do you replace a clutch cable in a 1991 Honda Civic DX?

Remove the transmission side of the cable first. To do this you grab the cable with one hand and pull the cable up slightly to release pressure on the black tensioning nut. Unscrew the nut until it doesn't touch the transmission anymore. The cable is now loose enough to pull the bottom gromet sideways through the clutch arm. You will see there is a gap or notch in the arm where you can slip the cable sideways through it. Then pull the cable up through the hole where the nut was tensioned. Next get inside the car and lay upside down (facing up) under the dash. Follow the clutch pedal up to the top with your hand, to where the clutchpedal has a hook. The cable is simply hooked onto the pedal. Slip the cable end off the top of the hook on the pedal. Then head back to the engine bay and pull the cable out of the hole in the engine compartment. Pretty simple, you can do it in 10 minutes.
