Itunes will not import songs in Windows Media (.wma) format.
The Windows Media Player and iTunes use different formats for their playlists. Depending on which version of Media Player you have you can save your playlist as an .m3u file type and then import that into iTunes using the menus - File/Library/Import playlists
To add songs one can simply drag them from a folder onto the Library portion of the side bar in iTunes. The songs will be converted into the format specified in one's iTunes' preferences. The file menu where it says import file to library and import folder to library can also be used to add media to iTunes.

To import your Windows Media Library to iTunes, you will first need to know what folder the songs are in. If you know that, you are all set... If you do know what folder you songs are in, open iTunes, go to file, then click on "Import File" or you may have to go to the "Library" tab and do the same. If you do not know where the song/songs are, open the "Start" menu and click on "Search" (for Windows Vista/7, just type in the box in the lower left corner) and type in the name of the song of part of the display name. If you song comes up, right-click and select "Properties." There should be a label that says"Location." Remember that destination, and do the same as above. t3Rm1NaT0r555
The iTunes Library is a data base with information about all your media. It does NOT contain the actual media, which can be anywhere that is connected to your computer. You either have to move the actual media or share the Library if you want to use the media on another computer, either a Mac or a PC.
on PC it is file>import to itunes on mac its preferences > import to itunes click on what you want
