It may take a few months to return on it's own. I was on depo provera for almost 5 years. I think it was about 45 days before I got my first period. Then, they were sporadic for the next year. The longest I can remember between periods was 3 months. My doctor told me that she could give me other hormones to straighten things out. So, if you don't want to play the waiting game ask your obgyn for help.
You need to ask this question to your doctor or gynaecologist ! This is not the place for such an important enquiry - since you cannot guarantee the person answering is actually qualified to do so !
You can't "kick start" a period after stopping Depo Provera. If you're really dying to see monthly bleeding, you can go on the Birth Control pill, patch, or ring and see monthly bleeding. That's just a show -- not a "kick start."
Kick it
It is called a Kick Start.
