Open up the battery slot should be under a flat battery. First, switch off your phone. Remove the back of your phone and you should see the battery. The SIM card will either be visible beside the battery, or it will be beneath the battery. Remove the battery to gain access to the SIM card. The SIM card can then be slid out of its holder. You can then replace the SIM with a new SIM. Make sure it is in the correct way and replace the battery and the cover. Switch phone back on.

With the advent of CDMA and GSM mobile cell phones entering the market, Sim cards are fading out gradually. But for the SIM phones that are still in use, the SIM chip is usually located underneath the battery inside the phone. The SIM card contains critical information needed by your Cellular service to identify your phone, and result in connectivity to make and receive calls. I am not sure if these SIM cards can be configured by the cell phone, and if not, you would have to have the SIM card programmed by the appropriate Cellular service, (typically at one of their site stores). Most older phones are not cross-compatible with other Cellular carriers, hence the term proprietary.

The SIM card can store information from the user. Newer SIM cards have more memory than older cards. Some of the newer GSM phones have two SIM card slots. This allows you to have a SIM card for the U.S> in one slot and a SIM card for, say Europe, in the other slot. This is oftern cheaper than trying to use either CDMA or TDMA phones in different locales. A big advantage is that you can change GSM phones quickly by just moving over the SIM card... no need to contact or visit a provider!

Simply take out the battery then you'll see a little silver bar that will keep the Sim in place. Slide the Sim in with the gold bit underneath and the little ridge on the side of the Sim towards the opposite side.

First you need to take the back of the phone off. Next take the battery out and there should be a little slot somewhere in there There will either be a picture showing you the right way round to put it in or you will have to figure that out yourself!

It depends on who your current carrier is, and what you would like to do next. (switch phones, switch carriers?)

For the most part, you can either purchase a SIM card at the carrier's brick and mortar store or you can buy one online.

Remove the back cover and the battery (or the back/battery as some devices are made as a one piece unit) and you will find it under the battery. Some devices will have a slot that it slides into and others may have a tray that it fits in or under, either way you should be able to see at least a part of the SIM card somewhere in the battery compartment. For further information on your specific device consult your owners manual or contact your service provider.

Put the SIM card from the new phone into the old one. Copy the contacts from the old phone's memory to the SIM card. Put the SIM car back in the new phone - then - either copy the contacts to the new phone's memory - or leave them on the SIM card. Either way - the new phone will find them.

How can you tell if your phone has a SIM card?

There are a couple of ways to know whether your phone uses a SIM card. 1. If you know who the service provider is for your phone, and it happens to be either AT&T, or T-Mobiles, then your phone does have a SIM card. 2. You could open the back of your phone and look carefully to see if you see a SIM card. If you do not see a SIM card, then gently remove the battery from it's compartment and look under the battery. If you see a SIM card, then your phone does use a SIM card.
