This is actually quite simple first take your wheel and tire off to make things easier you can take your rotor and caliper off but is not necessary remove axle nut in center (should be like a 34mm deep socket and pull your lower ball joint out of the socket (theres a nut on top and don' t forget to get that cotter pin) then pull the whole hub assembly and everything towards you and remove that end of the axle out (thats the hard part) then place your prybar between the transaxle and that end of the cv axle and pry against it the axle should just pop out .

How do you repair cvjoint assembly in1990 topaz?

you can repair cv joints if you have the right tools and knowledge, if not it would be better and less aggrivating if you had the job preformed by a licensed mechanic, this way you should have a guarantee and no guess work.

What would cause a grinding noise on a golf mkIV 1.8GTI only when turning right whilst pressing the accelerator Sounds as though it's coming from the frontits not a wheel baring or anything rubbing?

Answer is the veha equiped with abs?if it grinds only when you turn the car and nothings rubbing i would say it will be a cvjoint ,but to make sure that is the cause i would take it to a shop to have it check they usely don't charge to look at it ok, thanks, however one garage thinks it may need a new gearbox, they suggested a gearbox oil change first. Is this possible, or are they just wanting more money?is the veha equiped with abs?

How do you change a cv joint on a 1999 Mitsubishi eclipse?

beleave it or not its cheaper to buy the axel than jusy the cvjoint, its not that hards to replace an axel, you need to remove the tire on that side, you will see a big nut in the center of the wheel that is your axel nut take the nut loose then you will need a hammer drive the axel thru until it is free, then you will see your strut theres 2bolts running thru the strut remove the 2 bolts after removeing the bolts from the stut pull down on the spendel and release the axel after the axel is free from the spendel grab the axel and pull it out of the trasmision not sometimes it can be hard but it will come so don't be worred and to replace the axel do everthing in revers.note after replaceing the axel the car has to be lined up you can call the parts store and they can tell you how tight the axel nut has to be. i hope this will help you

How do you replace front wheel bearing on 96 Ford Probe?

remove the wheel. support the control arm with a jack stand. remove the driveshaft/cvjoint nut (the big nut in the center). may need to have someone pressing the brake or at least losen before you jack it up and remove the tire. remove the brake caliper assemby and the rotor. remove the tie rod end from the hub/steering knuckle. remove the two nuts and bolts attaching the hub/steering knuckle to the strut/shock and the nut and bolt holding the the hub/steering knuckle to the lower ball joint. lift the hub off the lower ball joint slide the hub/steering knuckle off of the cv joint/driveshaft. there may be sensors for antilock brakes and such that need removed but it should be fairly obvious on how to remove just by looking at them. with the hub/steering knuckle out, the bearing is a sealed bearing and is pressed out of the center after removing a seal and the new one is pressed in. since i don't own a press, i would usually take it to napa autoparts or someplace that has a machine shop and have them press the new one in for me. then reassemble.
