Remove the gas tank.
Release the fuel pressure . Remove the gas tank . On the top there is a lock ring, loosen it and install the new module assembly.
You will have to drop the fuel tank. Remove the pump assembly. The new pump should have instructions for replacing the unit.
1.Reveal the access panel to the gas tank. 2.Lift up the access panel. 3.Remove the eight screws holding the assembly to the gas tank. 4.Move the ring counterclockwise and release the fuel pump assembly. 5.Pull the fuel pump assembly out of the tank, replace it with a new one. 6.Replace every thing you had to move or take out.
You need to remove the panels in the trunk to get at the top of the gas tank, then you can easily remove the pump and install the new one.
Drain the gas from the gas tank. Remove the gas line. Remove the fuel pump retaining plate. Pull the fuel pump out. Reverse the process to install the new fuel pump.
Drain the gas from the gas tank. Remove the fuel line from the gas tank. Remove the fuel pump retaining plate. Remove the fuel pump. Reverse the process to install the new fuel pump.
You have to drain and drop the fuel tank. Remove the bracket bolts and pull the old pump assembly out. If the new pump is a Master pump, you will have to take the old wire grommet and return/valve assemblies off the old pump and install them into the new pump, put it back into the assembly harness. It's a pain in the butt, I just did it to a '91.
In New Jersey, you are not allowed to pump your own gas. Gas station attendants will pump the gas for you.
maybe for 30 seconds, but then it should smooth out, make sure you install a new screen filter with pump and also a new gas filter.
Install a new line.
In New Jersey, it is required to have a gas station attendant pump your gas for you.
The fuel pump is located in the gas tank. Remove the rear seat bottom by lifting on the front edge of the seat. There is an access panel that removes with three screws. Once the panel is off, you will see the top of the fuel pump assembly. Disconnect the wire harness and remove the bolts that hold the pump in (about 10). Gently remove the fuel pump assembly, and gently install the new one. Reverse the directions for removing the pump to complete installation of the new one.
