If its the 1800 20v the thermostat is located on the back of the cyl head up at the bulkhead. Follow the top rad hose until it connects to head, this is the stat. This is not an easy task for an amateur mechanic.
Drain the water from your 2001 Chevy Corvette cooling system. Remove the water supply hose from the top of the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Remove the old thermostat. Reverse the process to install the new thermostat.

To install a thermostat on a 1987 Nissan 300ZX, remove the two nuts and one bolt on the lower water neck. Slip off the old thermostat and use a gasket sealant to secure the new thermostat.
