if you are replacing a tub with a whirlpool tub that is the same size then it can be easier but if you have a pump then you still need power and a access panel for your pump. If you are new home or a remodel then you need to know where you want your faucet either deck mount or side wall and drain and access panel for your pump and power . The hardest part is installing a tub with no access to the drain hook up once the tub is in place. If you want to save money and do it your self then I would read/follow the install instructions that come with the tub or you can find them online.
New pressure balance faucet or you can install a pressure balance valve in the water lines behind tub or if you have a crawl space you can install it on the water lines there. But install only too the lines to tub faucet. And they are not easy no matter where you install. I would just tell everyone not to use any water till you are done with shower.
A tub faucet acts as a shower and can be used to bath in the bath tub. It is a pressure valve which makes the flow of water through it constant and gives a nice shower.
Faucet side.
Most of them are in the wall. The other would be a deck mount, which is mounted to the fiberglass tub deck and uses a Roman Tub Faucet.
It depends on the make of the faucets.
A Roman tub faucet does have good water pressure because it is made to do that. How good this is depends on how other brands perform in this area.
By un surrounding it
Maybe the kitchen is further away and on smaller pipe.
