The air filter on a 2003 Chevrolet 2500HD with a Duramax engine is installed by opening the access panel under the glove compartment. The old filter can then be removed and a new filter installed.

The owners manual says 7.4 qts pan and filter... If you have the same manual as I do it is on page 5-135 of the main manual.
