Open rear hatch and remove 2 screws that hold tailight on and pull out
Yes it does. It is an electric servo, not manuel. You open the door by squeezing a switch just under the handle, or by pressing the "rear hatch" button on your remote.
Open and prop up the rear hatch glass to ensure it won't drop down during the procedure. Detach the support struts at the rear hatch glass. Then detach the support struts where they attach to the body. Install the new struts in the reverse order, MAKING CERTAIN NOT TO OVER-TIGHTEN the strut where it attaches to the window glass.
Not my instructions - but I have used them, and they are correct (can't verify strut part # though). http://gallery.sanitylapse.com/v/supra/Hatch+Strut+Install+5-29-05/DSC_2385.jpg.html
There are four suspension struts, one for each wheel, and two rear window hatch support struts.
what are the wires for on the rear hatch door hydraulic pumps
May be a BCM glitch or the rear trunk latch there is a recall from gm about the rear hatch latch
The late 90s style you remove the metal clip and then pry off the strut. Be careful because the lift gate is heavy and will hurt you if it drops down. Do one side at a time. Make sure the metal clips are in place when you go to install the new struts.
First you will need to support the hatch so that is does not fall down on top of you when you pull one of the struts off. The struts have clips on the top and bottom of each strut. Use a small flat head screw driver and insert it under the clip to release it, (you do not have to pull the clip all the way out) just leave the screw driver in place to the clip is released. Then pop off the end of the strut, use this method for the remaining ends. To install the new strut just simply push the strut onto the ball support on both ends.
To answer the question that's easier . what they did is extend the warranty for the front wheel bearing to 5 year 60,000 miles. that's what they did on my 02 i don't know about other years. the best thing is to contact Buick give them your vin number and they can tell you . I received a letter from Buick which told me about the warranty.i think they will reimburse you for repairs you have done but once again contact Buick its not considered a recall. only other recall for a 02 rendezvous was the rear hatch latch. easiest is to call the dealer and the other answer though good information does not help, being the front wheel bearing is not a recall.
The hatch is held up by gas struts on either side. When it won't stay up the struts most likely have lost their gas pressure and need to be replaced. Pretty Simple Job. You can buy the parts at the dealer or from many sources over the net.
