From the inside. you have to unbolt heater box
The dash has to be removed to gain access to the heater box. The heater box then comes out and is split open to replace the core.
The dash must be completely removed in order to gain access to the heater box. Then the heater hoses are disconnected and the heater box is removed and opened up. That gains access to the heater core for relacement.
it's in the heater box under the glove box.simply disconnect the hoses under the hood,and take the heater box out from under the dash get a new core and install
remove the four nuts in the engine bay on the heater box near where the heater core hoses enter. Drain coolant remove the hoses and pull the heater box out from the inside of the car. Remove clips holding heater core, than put your new one in.

The heater resistor is quite simple to change. Unplug the wiring harness from the heater resistor. Remove the heater resistor retaining screws. Reverse the process to install your new heater resistor.
You first have to take the passenger side (bottom) dashboard out. You then remove (approx) 3 bolts from the inside and (approx) 2 nuts from the motor side. The heater core is inside the heater box. When the box comes off, you then remove the heater core from the box - after removing about 6-8 screws. It is more difficult than it sounds.

no but it does have a manual hot /cold lever control box which is adjusted via vacume hoses attached to the heater control unit on the dash
Remove the water supply lines to your 1985 Pontiac Trans Am heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. The heater core will come out. Reverse the process to install your new heater core.
Take hoses off under the hood that go to the heater box, unbolt all the bolts on outside of heater housing and pull the housing off to get to the heater core. you have to take out the inside wheel well
