The rear deck speakers in a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant measure 6 inches by 9 inches. The front door speakers measure 6 3/4 inches.
you hump them until they start to get dents. then replace them they are discusting now.

Front doors: 6x8 Rear deck: 6x9 The 6x8s are usually replaced with 5x7s and an adapter kit (sometimes comes with the speakers). JVC makes 6x8s specifically for Ford and Mazda, though.

Remove rear deck lid, use a 9/32 socket to remove screws, remove wires, reinstall them onto new speaker, reinstall the screws and the rear deck lid...
remove the speaker covers from fear deck. remove the four screws that hold the speakers in the rear deck. four screws hold each speaker in place. unplug the wires from the connecters. if aftermarket speakers cut after plug and splice new speaker wires into existing factory wires. reverse the procedure to install new speakers.
the door speakers are 5.25" round, and the rear deck speakers are 6x9".

well if your talking about a CD deck then yes i still have my stock one but i have a systemhooked up in mine...so yes you can install a new stero
