Saftey first chock your car and set the parking brake. then move your shifter down with the car off but the ignition on you will have plenty of room to work install it then
The button to push on Mercedes-Benz S420 to have the center console blowers turn on is the "AUTO" button.
The OBDII connection is located under the ashtray in the center console, plull out the ashtray and lift the flap of rubber.
All Mercedes Benz front ashtrays can be removed, if there is no slide button to unlock the ashtray it just needs to be pulled out. They all snap into place so sometimes you have to tug a little bit. But how do you remove the entire unit for the center console? That's a bit more involved and probably what the question was all about. Anyone know the steps or have a schematic?
Under the center console between the ashtray and the radio
It is behind the ashtray in the the center console. Just open the ashtray door and pull. You'll see it in plain sight.
The OBD connector is located behind the ashtray that is loctaed above the center console. Remove the ashtray to make this connector acessible.

The Mercedes-Benz ML 320 center console is held in place with six retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts and the center console will come loose.

You must remove the ashtray that is in the center console, just forward of the gear shift/selector. The OBDII port is usually behind the ashtray in this area on Acuras.
