How do you install the top panel on a fairly new metal garage door with windows?

Cut the power to the opener. Dissconnect the draw bar attached to the old top panel. pull the release rope on the operator trolley, then move the trolley back out of the way. use two sets of vice grips on the garage door track toward the bottom of the door to prevent the door from lifting up on its own. Your door is counter-balanced with springs, when you remove the old top panel, you will be taking weight off of the door thus making the springs lift the door on their own, this is bad. that's what the vice grips are for. when the old panel is out remove all hardware and transfer it to the new panel, this is easiest with the new panel resting on top of the door in the opening either toe nailed in or a buddy holding it. make sure to adjust the very top roller fixtures so that the new panel is tight against the wall and header with the door shut. re-attatch your opener. hope this helped
