The 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette has the most common hook-end wiper arms. See Sources and Related Links below for installation videos. Also, purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

It sounds like you have a blown head gasket!.
Blown fuel pump fuse, or defective fuel pump relay. This is assuming all wiring is good.
I have a 2000 model and I just put in 20 gallons, so if it's the same tank on the '99 it's at least 20 gallons.
On my '99 model its under the coolant resivoir, take the metal bar loose that the resivoir is mounted to, put it aside and it should be directly underneath, hope it helps.
On my 99 Silhouette, you open the hatch door, there is a half, to 3/4 circle that the tool from the jack fits in. Turn it, and the tire will come down. Depending on where you live, it might be rusty and sticky, so it won't want to come down very easy.
How did you change the thermostat?
The 1999 Oldsmobile wiper switch can be located below the dashboard. The wiper relay switch simply plugs in and out.

On my 99 you remove the headlight assembly by removing the two plastic covered wing nuts, then remove the side marker/blinker assembly by removing the plastic covered wing bolt, then the light is accessible. It sounds harder than it is!
