You can keep the puppy from eating the cat food by putting the cat's food dish at a higher level. Cat have a natural tendency to jump up to higher levels to eat prey, so this will not disturb your cat at all. You can also feed the cat in a separate room from the puppy, such as the bathroom with the door closed, and return in 10 minutes to let the cat out and collect the dish.
Depends when this question was posted......at one time last spring (2009) there was a recall of many cat foods due to an ingredient added from China. This recall has passed and according to vets - if your cat is an indoor only cat it should have more canned food and less dry food.
keep it away from him

You have to put up the mama cats food up when the cat isn't eating it and when she needs to eat lock your male kitten in the bathroom or hold him.
If the puppy will eat it yes my dog actually likes cat food more than dog food
yes i can yes i can yes it can no not if it eats a little bit. it also depends what the cat ate.
whenever you want it to, my cat eats homemade food, not commercial cat food :) it's healthier too
I believe you can because the puppy isn't at the stage where it wants to chase or harm the cat. However the cat may feel scared with the puppy.
no but it also depends on what your eating.
she wants to be vegetarian
Yes if its wet cat food, dog should only eat dog food.
Generally, cat food contains more protein and fat than dog food, which is why dogs will readily eat cat food, as it just tastes better. It isn't exactly harmful in the short term, but cat food will not provide a puppy with the correct nutrients it needs. If need be, consult your veterinarian to find out what kind of nutrients your puppy needs, then read nutrition facts labels of food for your puppy. Always be sure to choose a dog food that is high in named meat (chicken, beef, lamb etc.) and low in grains, cereals and corn (dogs do not need high levels of these as they do not provide them with any nutrition).
