I'd advise you to try and accept your parents as part of the relationship. In my experience, if i'd listened to my parents about the girls I've had in my life over the years, i'd be happier, more wealthy and far more successful.
Simply put, your parents probably want what's best for you. And believe it or not, in many cases they probably know better than you.
Having said that, if you want them to leave you alone (i.e. treat you with respect and stay out of your choices) the best thing to do is talk to them about it and explain that you're not stupid, you won't do anything silly and that you'd appreciate a little space to grow.
That'll work better than you think.
