Most of what is recommended is based on common sense. Some ways to keep the musculo-skeletal system healthy are:

  • Regular exercise and movement;
  • a healthy diet, that includes calcium for bones and proteins for muscles, along with all the required vitamins and minerals;
  • avoidance of persistent and frequent repetitive motions;
  • avoid injury, sprains, or strains using good exercise techniques, low impact exercise, improved balance with specific exercises, and exercises designed for the movement or sport planned;
  • wear appropriately fitting shoes with good arch support, and keep them in good repair;
  • prepare for sports or strenuous activity with strengthening and stretching;
  • don't be a weekend warrior and over do it after long periods without using your body;
  • keep good posture and body alignment;
  • sleep on a good mattress;
  • wear your seat belt in the car;
  • use proper body mechanics for heavy lifting.

Regular exercise. And the best regular exercise for the muscular-skeletal system is a 30 minute walk each day.
