Did you try gently twisting the steering wheel a little? I've had mine get stuck and if you jiggle the steering wheel, it will most of the time get unstuck.
if it is an auto check the wiring around the gearshift as this may be telling the car that it is not in park!!
No, they are two different keys.
i have 2002 Mercedes s430, i put the key inside ingnition but i can't turn the key to start the engine, can you tell me what is the problems?
Do you want the ignition switch or the key tumbler?
This can be attributed to a couple of things. In order to remove the key you can remove the plastic piece under the ignition switch to expose a key release button. OR you can drill out the small circle in the area below the ingnition switch to access the key release button. The stuck key may be a faulty ignition switch or a bent shift lever. This causes the lever to not make the release solenoid contact. If you slammed it into park you make have bent the contact point on the control arm.Faulty ignition switches are a common failure.
Chase your ingnition wires into head light and unplug them.
Say what?! Lock in park and ingnition?! Why would someone lock in park and ingnition these days?
how to remove key stuck in ignition switch in Chevy colbalt
YOUR CAR WA STOLEN AND THEY PUT A NEW IGNATION..... DOOR JOB IT
just had the same problem and it seams that it is the ignition switch behind the barrel but i am trying to find someone who knows where the relese pin is and in which position the key has to be in There is no specific position where the key has to be.... It all happens when you switch off the car in turning position of the wheel. When ever you feel you are trying to ignit switch and looks like, it is lock or you are unalble to turn the switch on.... only turn your wheel and try again. That's it. Your key will be released enabling you to turn the key in order to ingnition...
NO, an unplugged wire is electrical, and the turning of the ingnition lock cylinder is purely mechanical. Therefore there is no cause/effect relationship between the two. What you describe is pure coincidence, and not a cause for the sticking lock cylinder.
While the alarm is beeping, turn the ingnition to on position push the button in then take the key out.
