Even though you cannot find ancient shark skeletons because the cartilaginous skeleton decomposes(under most circumstances), you can find their teeth. Scientists have found teeth from megaladons, and by comparing the teeth to body ratio of existing sharks today, they can estimate that megaladon was the largest known shark that ever lived.
We know about the existence of 'The Dinosaurs' by all the fossilised remains. (e.g: Skeletons, foot prints etc) Although we ma know plenty about them, most is only an estimated guess.

Megalodon - film - was created in 2002.
The scientific name for the megalodon is Carcharodon megalodon.
The duration of Megalodon - film - is 1.5 hours.
Like other sharks, Megalodon's skeleton is made of cartilage, not bone. That means it doesn't fossilize well. The vast majority of Megalodon fossils that we have are teeth, and we also have a few vertebrae. From these, we can tell that Megalodon was a huge shark, but it is still difficult to get an exact size estimate (maximum figures say it was about 50+ feet long, compared with great whites which are only 20 feet long, at the largest). We also know that Megalodon had a global distribution, and that it lived between 15.9 and 2.6 million years ago. The other thing we know is that they probably ate cetaceans, such as whales, because some whale skeletons from the period show tooth marks that match those of Megalodon.
Yes...he may of had one or two,a bigger Megalodon or a bitting sperm whale...i'm sorry i don't know the scientific name. im only 13yrs old.
There is only one known megalodon species, Carcharodon megalodon. Sometimes it is attributed to a different genus than Carcharodon, so megalodon is often simply called C. megalodon because both possible genera begin with the letter C.
