There is a small inspection plug that you have to take out , it is on the passenger side, on the trans-axle housing and you access it from under the car but you need to be sure to have the vehicle level and ATF should just weep out of the hole when level is correct. A good service manual I.E. (Haynes/Chiltons) will show you exact location...it will also give you how much to add after filter change.

If your car is the 2.4 version then I can help. Under your intake tube their is this little RED Cap on top of your transmission. You have to drain your trans first then unscrew the RED cap and refill transmission with 4 quarts of trans fluid.
