If your vehicle is 1995 or newer, it will be equipped with OBD II. This is where the inspector plugs into the on-board computer of your vehicle. If your check engine light is not on when the vehicle is hooked up to this data link, the vehicle will more then likely pass as far as emissions, (smog) is concerned.
