The evaporator in the '03 Silverado is under the dash on the passenger side. Unfortunately to replace it, you have to remove the front dash. This is probably one where you will need to take it into the shop.

The entire, and I mean ENTIRE front dash has to come out to remove the heater box which then must be disassembled in order to replace the evaporator or heater core. Not a job for the feint of heart.

Remove the battery, radiator support brackets, battery air filter housing, and air filter hose. Raise the vehicle, and drain radiator. disconnect the transmission cooler lines, and the radiator fan. Unbolt the radiator an remove. Reverse the process to install.
