I assume you know what a regular flashing patch looks like. Well a shiny patch looks similar, but it is brighter and flashes twice and it has a pinkish colour. Hope this helps:)

Finding a shiny Pokemon diamondTo increase your chances of finding shiny pokémon, you must have the pokéradar which can be located in the key items pocket. Then go to Sandegm Town where Lucas's sister is. Talk to her and go to the route she tells you about. Now change the bottom screen so that is have the 1st 2nd and 3rd with a stage sort of. Go into a grass area so that is fills up 65% of the screen. Use a max repel and then use the pokeradar, look at the grass closlely to see if a grass wiggles. After battle the Pokemon and defeat it and it should be located at the bottom screeen. Keep doing this until you get to the number 20. Use the pokeradar again and you will see a different colored grass wiggling go there and a shiny Pokemon should appear. Other than that you have a 1/8192 of finding a shiny.
