Take it to a auto shop and have them run a test. Places like Walmart sears or even auto zone and napa will perform the test for free. With a naked eye you cant tell. With a meter you cant tell. I once had a hole develop in the side of the battery and the whole cell lost its water. I could still start and run the car with no problem. Eventually it stopped working but at first everything seemed OK.
If the battery will not hold a charge it more than likely has a dead cell. If the battery is over 4 years old, replace it.
