take your gas cap off and get someone to key on (not trying to start, just with radio and everything working) while you listen inside the tank. if you dont hear a buzzing noise, then your fuel pump took a dump. try not to run your car with low gas a whole lot because if the pump is not sitting in gas, it wont lubricate right and eventually, after enough times, it will sieze
check it
you just do! you have conventional suspension, there is no need for one...

You could go to jiffylube, did you know that the ls share underpinnings with a particular jaguar model?
First thing would be that the car won't start. You can also just look in the trunk next to the spare tire hole and under the plate is your fuel pump. If it is not there then you will know.
hard starting or it fill like you run out of gas. it will turn but won't start.
