By whenever your with him, everything just feels right, like nothing could go wrong. If you feel that sence of security with them and trust. IF your in love with them, and not just a "puppy love" n such. Once your truly in love, you'll know it. ALso, if you know that he wants to be with you forever and no one else, and how he tells you constantly how much he loves you and wants to be with you forever, that's another sign. Make sure its someone who will treat you right, and who wont let you down.
