Find a vacant street or parking lot, accelerate, and slam on the brakes. If the wheels lock up then you know ABS isn't working. Recall that the brake pedal should pulse too.
Certain codes would lead to a bad ABS module.
Might be a bad wheel bearing assembly
Easiest way, pull the fuse from under the hood. It should be labeled. You'll probably lose traction control too, and ebrake/tc/abs lights may stay on all the time.
Mine is on also and also the brake light, they say the abs speed sensors are bad, I will let you know
Usually the ABS and traction control off lights will come on
You are SUPPOSED to get an ABS light on your dash if a malfunction has been detected on the Anti-lock Brake System
Snapping and cracking noises when accelerating especially while turning.
Abs pump getting bad
If you are talking about a wheel speed sensor then the abs light will be on.
the ABS sensor is bad.
YES. Having abs at a young age usually indicates a bad diet. (or under eating).
Probably a sensor or faulty actuator but you can't know for certain without a scan of the ABS computer codes.
