No. Your normal brakes will still work even if the ABS Module is bad. You will however have no ABS function.

Turn the key off, then off. The ABS codes are nor cleared and the light off unless a problem has been detected again. If the problem is detected again, check for ABS codes. Not that most common problems are bad speed sensor or bad control module.
If it is GM it is Centering malfunction, steering wheel position center did not detect a centered wheel. Bad steering wheel position sensor, poor wiring connection, or bad EBCM (ABS control module)....check the connections first.
