There are numerous 'modules' on the Taurus / Sables. It would be necessary to know *WHICH* module is being discussed in order to provide helpful information.
Please create a new question that includes which module to get specific help.
There is a module that controls this. I forget the name of it offhand, however I do know that it is several hundred dollars just for the part. Just not worth it...
Leaking?Wobble in pulley?
As far as I know just front wheel drive
The first clue would be if the car doesn't turn over :)
i dont know what you mean by *cough* but i assume you need a tune up, bad.
Go to an auto parts store and ask for an OEM filter. You will then know what it looks like.
just want you to know you are not alone. I too have a '01 sable and I'm having the exact problems. I have approx 190,000 miles on it though.
I assume that you are reffering to the Powertrain Control Module (12A650). This is located on the firewall down from the passenger side windshield wiper. You can see the 104 pin connector comming out of it. I think I need the location of the chassis computer. I bought the car used and it has the keyless entry number pad on the drivers door. The manual says that if I know the factory code I can use it to open the doors, or I can change the code. I have no idea what code is in the computer, but the manual says the factory code is taped to the "computer module". Any Help on where this module is located?
On a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer : The automatic transmissions are ELECTRONICALLY controlled , so there is no modulator
I don't know it, i'm trying to figure it out myself.
If you are referring to the electric engine radiator fan, there should a safety recall for a free replacement or repair. I had one done on my 1995 Mercury Sable. But I don't know if the recall goes back that far to 1988. Go to the Federal Government's National Highway Safety web page to see.
If you have the driver-side keypad and know your code, just enter your code and then press 5.
