Dim picture, slow to get bright and the white part of the picture turns kind of negative looking.
panasonic? 15 years?,,,,,,,,,,,,, I am sure the tube is going out.
Theoretically it is possible to change a tube on a television. However, if the question is being asked, it suggests a limited experience of television repair. Television tubes require very high voltages to operate, in the order of 20,000 volts or higher. These voltages can be lethal and they are present within a television circuit long after the television has been turned off. In addition to the danger, lining up a new tube requires detailed knowledge of the television model and the procedure to obtain a good image. Unless you are properly trained and qualified to repair televisions, do not ever remove the covers. Finally, the cost of a new tube for most televisions is now higher than a replacement television and it makes no financial sense to attempt a tube replacement. I replaced a broken Picture Tube on a RCA set myself, I got a shock while lifting the old tube into my car, I forgot to discharge the tube and lucky I didn't drop it, that would have been dangerous. I found an old used tube to replace it, a new rebuild would be too costly. I don't recommend anyone do this unless you have some knowledge.
CRT - cathode ray tube
No. There's no effect from magnetism in an LCD TV.
Hi, A tube TV is a television set that uses a CRT for its picture dislay as compared to a digital light processor (DLP), LCD (liquid crystal display) or plasma sets. It is also in my opinion, the most dependable of the TV's on the market and will remain so until today's manufacturers can build a more dependable TV using the newer technology. Tube TV's may be down, but they're not out and shouldn't be discounted. Hope this helps, Cubby

A replacement tube (if it is available) is likely going to cost almost as much as the whole television. If you need a new tube, it's time to ditch the tube TV and get a flat screen.
The most common failure mode of the CRT in a TV is the picture going progressively darker and darker. In general, if the TV wouldn't display anything at all suddenly, there can be more at work than just the tube suddenly going bad - I'd even go as far as to say that in most cases of unexpected, abrupt failures, the tube isn't to blame (the flyback transformer is a much more likely suspect).
Your Television. You - Your Tube -Television (From Cathode Ray Tube)
he is going to on cis, but don't know wen.
you should probably check you tube or google.
It was called the Television but when first coined it was called the "Cathode tube" which as we know was actually only part of the device
in the early days of televisiion, the screen that one watched the picture on was more than just the glass 'screen', but included the necessary parts to deliver the video portiion of the television experience, was actually called a picture tube. From that fact people sometimes called it the 'tube', or sometimes the 'boob tube'....just as a reference to television. I think that the only one to know the true answer to the question is the one or few who officially gave You tube it's name. In my opinion, though, I think it is referencing just that ... tv. "You tv" as in videos....= tv --- about whatever YOU want... or since anyone can make and ppost their own from home....it could refer to TV-- OF YOU!
One can find Rude Tube on the TV network called Channel 4 or by going on the online Channel 4 website. One can also watch the episodes online that are uploaded to YouTube.
Have you tried adjusting the settings on your tv like the contrast/tint/etc.? It might be a bad picture tube in which case you may need to get a new tv but without more details it's hard to know for sure what's going on.
