With my 1990, when you turn on your heater or air it kicks it on, try that or drive around town for about an hour and go home with the engine still running open the hood and see if the fan is running or wait to see if it kicks on, or just listen for it when it is running, when mine kicks on I can hear it Alternately you can unplug the fan and run jumpers from the battery to the fan to see if it is functioning. If it does come on hooked up to the battery but not during normal operation, it could possibly be your thermostat.
