Typically, the first indication is the starter solenoid clicks but the starter does not spin. This indicates a dead or weak spot on the armature where the brushes must make good contact. Usually, trying to start the engine a couple more times will result in success. This could go on for a very long time before you actually need to replace the starter (I know). But, it is better to replace as soon as this happens a couple times, because you just don't know when it won't resuscitate itself someday. The other indication that a starter is going bad (or is bad) is if it pulls the battery way down when you try to start. This indicates a shorting of the armature to ground during rotation. Replace immediately.
We know were the starter is, how do you get it out? Does the intake manifold have to be removed?
Remove it and bench test it or bring to auto parts store they can test it for you
i don't know if the engines are similar enough for me to answer you question but i have a '85 sr5 and when i took off my starter, all i had to do was remove two bolts from behind the starter. you really gotta get down and dirty because they are BACK THERE! hope this helps you out.
I want to know the wiring color codes of the Toyota corolla 2006 car radio.
Blue book prices are not determined simply by model and year. You will need to know how many miles the vehicle has been driven. Also, you will need to know if it was a Corolla CE, VE, or LE.
Though I don't drive this type of car, I do know that most neutral safety switches are found on the transmission.
acceleration is very slow.
how will I know my Voltage regulator is bad. I have replaced the starter and had the battery and alternator checked they are good. My car will start when it is colder outside but as the day gets hotter it will not start.. Can you help
If you hear the starter spinning but not turnover it over. Or if the starter just clicks when you try to turn it over. If anything you can just take it out and have your local auto parts store test it.
I know its what my 2001 Corolla Requires.
I can answer that if I know the year of your Corolla. They differ. Post it on my message board or email me at dhutchison@bak.rr.com and I will be able to help.
I don't know but I found your question because I need to know the samething!
