How do you know if you've been reincarnated?

If you mean 'after you die, will you know if you're reincarnated'; many believe that you will very much know whether you're being reincarnated. Some describe it as the most painful experience, your soul is ripped out of your body (possibly tortured) and you are reborn remembering nothing. You will certainly know, according to this belief, if you are being reincarnated. Others may believe that you experience no pain, and that you just die and then wake up in another body (again remembering nothing).

If you meant 'when you are reborn, will you know if you've been reincarnated', the answer is no, unless you are one of a few enlightened (relating to Nirvana, not intelligence) individuals, you may remember your past life when you are reincarnated.

You 'know' that you are reincarnated if you believe in one religion/belief system which holds this ideology, such as Hinduism or Buddhism. If you believe in one of those such religions, you know that everyone has been reincarnated.

Some people find they have dreams, pseudo-memories, or an inexplicable affiliation to places, events or people. This is often interpreted as proof of past lives. Additional study called past life regression can be used, but should only be attempted with a reputable practitioner.

Much as I personally believe that we are continually being reborn on our spirit's path of evolution, the skeptic in me, wonders why so many people who "go public" with their past life stories were princes and queens and influential people, and not thieves, peasants or criminals (barring the famous ones that is).

Well There are a few ways to know, but nothing is ever solid. But Sometimes I feel as though I am not in the right time period, as though I am lost. other times I say or think things that do not pertain to what is happening around me. This usually happens when time periods pertaining to ancient Egypt and times Before Christ pop up. I know things that most other people don't, and feel as though I've been there. If you feel any of these things you could have been reincarnated. The symptoms usually are

-Dejavu

-recurring Dreams

-random though or speech

-unsettling feeling of being out of place

-Out of place mannerisms

You would have memories or special knowledge from previous lives you couldn't possibly know unless you were actually there. For an interesting study about reincarnation you should read up on Patton. Many don't know that General Patton firmly believed in it and that he had previously been on many of the battlefields he had to fight once more upon in WW2. Although we can debate reincarnation his firm belief he could not be permanently killed made him the man he was and through him Eisenhower saved the world.
