How do you know your hamster is dead?

Their breathing becomes laboured, they shake uncontrollably and their bodies become cold. They also begin to smell.

drooping down and "passing out",falling alseep.

Very tired often,I advise removing the wheel,

Because some old hamsters get too tired and plop down and sleep in the wheel,too tired to move.

Apart from the obvious "it's not moving anymore", you can tell if it's truly dead because it will become stiff after a few hours when rigamortis has set in.

If your hamster is dead, it will be unresponsive to light, sounds, or touch. If you touch it, it may feel stiff, depending on how long it has been dead. If it is sick, but not dead, it may be more likely to jump and bite you if you touch it, so you may want to very gently touch it with something like a pencil eraser if you are not sure.

I once had a gunie pig and she began to cry a lot and stop eating. I would recommend brining the animal to a animal hospital. i did this and within a couple of days my guinea pig was feeling much better and was healthy again.

you can tel if ur hamster is dying by it being very cold and very soft and is less active the best thing to do is to hold ur hamster when u notice it dying
