Dogs in a pack will usually have one dog who is dominant, and the other dogs will follow the leader of that pack. In the home, it is you who should be in charge and the dog should accept you as the leader, and be willing to obey you. Most of the time, a dog will be your friend if you are kind to it, feed it, and also give it rules and structure so that it knows what is expected and how to earn your praise. If the dog displays aggressive behavior towards you, that dog does not feel friendly and may even feel threatened.
