Once you propose to Muffy you need to wait until the first day of spring the next year. (the 10th day of winter is the day before you get married) You should probably still give her a flower everyday before then so the hearts in her diary won't go down, but I'm not entirely sure if you HAVE to do that. Of course you need to have four hearts in her diary before you propose, that goes for all of the girls. I don't know if all this is the same for the other girls but I'm pretty sure it is.

To cause these(I don't know these), just visit them everyday, but not at the same time. Keep giving them gifts.Check their diary too. When they have four red hearts you should propose. Do this by the end of the year to go to the next chapter.
