You'll know by the horrible droning sound being made when you are driving. I thought maybe the noise was coming from the tyres as they were the only things to have changed. Once I got past 30mph the noise started to get annoying. I started looking into tyre reviews. However, after a 200+ journey the noise was too much and decided to take it to a garage and they said there was too much play in the wheel and unsafe to drive back. It turned out to be the rear passenger wheel bearing being the fault. Had it changed, cost around 170GBP and haven't a noise like it since.
Gonna need to know if it is 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, makes a difference.
The front bearings on an Acura Vigor are pressed on bearings, unless you have access to a press or know of a shop that can do this for you I wouldn't attempt this job.
To change front wheel bearings on a 1976 four-wheel drive GMC Sierra, you have to use the proper tools. Either by a mechanic or yourself; but you are required to know the basics. Being that these bearings are sealed and cannot be repacked with grease. It is important to replace the worn bearings, with the new ones. Before they damage the hubs.
Front or rear makes a big difference, need to know.
Grand Ams eat wheel bearings, if one is bad you might as well replace both of them as the other will go out in a month or so, I had a 94 and replaced 6 wheel bearings in that car in 113,000 miles.
As far as i know yes.
ur wheel will either be making a squeeking noise. or there will noticeably be a performance downgrade in the wheel or tyre.
Look for wiring running out to the front wheel bearings. If there are speed sensors at the front wheels, then you have 4 wheel abs.
There are many different bearings. Need to know the year, make, model, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, all wheel drive and if it is the front or rear wheel bearing.
Need to know if 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive for the front. Either way, there is no nut on the back axles.
1. If either front tire wheel hub assembly fall off.. then you can bet the front wheel bearing(s) need replaced. 2. Before front tires fall off.. Safely jack-up front tire.. rotate front tire by hand. wheel should rotate quietly.. if grinding sound is present wheel bearing hub assembly should be replaced.. $150-$300 dollars each.
Timken bearing better but I dont know
