You simply divide the MAH of your battery the MAH of your charger. For example my battery is 1500 MAH and my charger is 250 MAH. 1500/250=6 which means I have to charge my battery for six hours.

No. There is not possible way for them to wear out. There is a myth that if your battery is still plugged in that the battery drains it charge. It's nothing serious (just recharge the battery) and I don't know if it's true, but I would unplug your battery when your done using it.
Have the blackberry torch and when I put it on charge a lightning bolt shows up on the battery when its done charging the lightning bolt goes away!
One thing you have to be careful about with AEG's is how long you charge your battery. I don't know the answer but I am going to suggest a basic smart charger that will stop charging the battery once it is at max. A basic Smart Charger goes for about $20 but it is better than over charging a battery and breaking it.
There should be a little light next to the off button. Its green when the battery if fully charged, its orange when its charging/ needs charging and its red when its got very low battery. I hope this helps you :D
I assume you're referring to a laptop running a windows based operating system. In this case you should have a battery icon in the bottom right in the task bar which includes the current charge percentage. However, if you do not have the battery icon you must to enable it from the desktop properties.
