My back bench needs only pull forward on the seat as you push the back of the seat down toward the back down, results in flat out bed.

my 86 had a switch about 10-15" above the floor behind the middle row of seats on the driver side, when the bed was down the switch was partially covered by the corner of the matress-hope this helps
